Yitro Hebrew Teachers’ Guide completes series

The very last MaToK teachers’ guide has been created and can be purchased at the USCJ Book Service! It is the Yitro Hebrew teachers’ guide, and it, like all the others, can be downloaded for $5.

Certain things still need to be ordered through the United Synagogue office: these are student booklets that exist only in black and white and the script and CD of “Beatle Torah”. The order form is available here on this page.

Reduced prices on color student booklets for 2010-2011

We are cognizant of the financial pressures facing schools at this time. In response, we have dramatically lowered the prices of the student booklets. Information is available on our new forms (click here).

All MaToK color booklets can now be ordered online

As of June 2009, you are now able to order all color student booklets on line! ORDER ON LINE AT: www.uscj.org/booksvc. Then search “MaToK” or go to “School Curriculum and Forms” in the menu. All black-and-white teachers’ guides can be downloaded directly from the USCJ Book Service website. The only material that will be ordered conventionally will be the student booklets for Parashat Noah, Parashat Ki Tissa, the Halakhic Unit, and Bemidbar.

Assumed Vocabulary

When students begin their study of Torah, using MaToK, a certain amount of receptive vocabulary is assumed. These are words that can be used commonly in early childhood settings (pre-kindergarten through second grade) in informal (play, dance, conversation) and formal (story-telling, early reading and writing) activities. Obviously, we do not drill or practice word lists, but students can learn to comprehend and respond appropriately to these words.

We hope that you find them useful in preparing your students for Torah study.
